A Whale of a Time

Hi all,

Just got back from a great trip to Puerto Lopez, a fishing village on the Ecuadoian coast, with fellow volunteers Adam, Emily and Janet to check out some whales, have some delicious seafood, and have some relax time at the beach.  It´s the dry season now in that area, which (unbeknownst to us) meant that all the trees have lost their leaves and the weather´s a bit overcast and cool, but no rain.  So it wasn't exactly a sunbathing expedition, but we still had a great time. Enjoy the pics below! (Sorry went a little overboard with the number of pics this post)

Love love love the photos. But what is this about ugly feet? Lol. Also, I notice that you did get a picture of the whale jumping out of the water! Looks like you didn't miss the photo op after all. Sorry I ruined most of the pictures with having my mouth open. =D

WOW!!! What a great and unique experience…

From late July to early November the mighty humpback whale reaches the sanctuary of Hervey Bay for some well earned rest, relaxation and fun interaction with whale watchers. This extraordinary close up experience only happens in the calm, sheltered waters between Fraser Island & the Fraser Coast/Hervey Bay mainland.
